The Year That Was - 2010

In keeping up with the tradition of this blog - which is to write a post to recap the stuffs that made the year memorable, as the final post of the year - I am now fending off my unnatural urge to sleep in spite of not being in the mood to blog at all.

**For future reference Zaid of the future, your sleeping pattern was disturbed and you should've been sleeping while you were posting this stuff at 9.15pm :| **

Since I'm kinda sleepy and there's not much time left until 2010 passes by under our pretty noses, I have elected to write a gung ho style post, highlighting my (somewhat deviated) journey to becoming a proper adult in 2010 into one single post. Unlike the previous years, I believe this one will be rather short. But who cares. Here goes :

January :
Malaysian politics is very colourful, it's blinding. And one of the reason was the hullabaloo surrounding the dispute whether the word Allah can be used in a Christian publication in Malaysia. I was engaged in a cyber war with a senior from my uni regarding the issue, and I was surprised as to how smart I can be in my reasoning skills. Refer to my January 8th post and marvel at my smarty-panty-ness in the dialog attached if you have a lot of time to kill.
I was also in the middle of a cross road back then, when I was contemplating to either continue
my studies in the UK, or continue my degree locally and grad one semester ear
lier. I chose the later, and I'm not regretting the decision. Though the only way now if I am to want to continue abroad is to study my ass off (again), get a stellar CGPA and do my masters there (and getting a scholarship). Masters? Yea rite...

February :
World peace is hard to achieve when there's a feeling of dislike towards one another, mutually or otherwise. And I have my own list of people I don't like in my life (aka enemies), and one of them made a return to the place he was not meant to be, where I thought I had seen the last of him a couple of months before. Need a clue? He's the closest resemblance to a swine in the whole batch physically and such an attention whore.
I had a very cool lecturer who taught me presentation skills that semester, Mr Azahari. He looks like Ramli Sarip and has a good sense of humour. I like him, I wanna be like him.
February was also the month where I genuinely fell in love with a girl while taking the train
home. She's from Kemunting.
And I discovered the joy of wintermelon juice :B

March :
I was planning to celebrate my 22nd birthday at The Curve, enjoying the tunes from Kings of Convenience as they toured to our country during my birthday. It was not to be as I had to join a "Personal Development" trip (it's a course work at the same time), and Encik Roslan Ariff will forever be remembered for taking KOC away from me.
I also discovered that Nasi Putih Daging Merah tastes like feet.

April :
Miss Syikin who taught me Corporate Finance sent me a facebook PM telling me to actually start studying during the final weeks leading up to the final exams. Kinda disturbing.

May :
I was experimenting whether discipline is part of my trait or I'm a complete asshole by dragging myself into a mess called a to-do list, which is inspired by Mike Gayle's book of the same title. Which I haven't finished reading yet. Until now. And about the list itself, it has 79 items in it, created to keep me occupied with stuffs that supposedly make me a functioning adult and to spend time better during the May/June semester break. And in spite of bringing the list forward to the Nov/Dec holiday plan, I still haven't gotten half of them settled with yet. Aih~

June :
The World Cup was boring. The Vuvuzela single handedly destroyed the World Cup with the nonsensical monotonous din coming out from the stuff for the entire 90 minutes of each game (barring the Diego Forlan goal, Uruguay vs South Africa), and the entirety of the tournament. I wasn't even bothered to watch it on TV because of the noise. The worst World Cup I've ever seen in my 22 years of living. And Italy sucked.
Then there was this problem where the UiTM server went nuts and I (and thousands
other)had to wait till the next day after the supposed date where the final exam results should came out cos of technical problems.

July :
Discovered that Nazrullah from Marketing is a super hero as he single handedly drove the legendary white Nissan (or was it a Ford?) van around Kedah/parts of Penang (air panas, air terjun, shopping mall) from Friday noon to morning the next day. The van had 15 passengers (I think) and popular belief suggests that Naz stayed up for 22 hours straight!

August :
Not much that I can remember.

September :
Got a car. Hyundai i10. Baby Milmo arrived! :D

October :
Baby Milmo's first scratch.
Second solo trip to Langkawi. And if not for Wan, the trip would've been a one day retreat to paradise. Instead, I had to spend a night there as we missed the ferry, and a few hundred ringgit more.

November :
Got a first hand experience of being a flood victim. No clean water supply forced me into taking drastic actions such as skipping baths and being stinky. And trying not to poo took it's toll too. And it all hapened during the final exams.
Wikileaks has become a diplomatic land mine as sensitive issues such as security and Anwar Ibrahim being gay are leaked.
ISP Liability Act suddenly ruffles my ass feathers and many others as the parliament might discuss it and pass the act, and rob us of internet freedom we've been enjoying for the past 10 years.

December :
Got into a fight with some Indon people on Twitter after the 3-0 drubbing of Indon by Malaysia in the first leg of the AFF Suzuki Cup and at the same time, discovered the joy of using twitter. It was fun when the most the Indon die hards could do was sitting in front of their PCs threatening to kill me with their self-consoling retorts.
Malaysia won the cup and Khairul Fahmi is now the craze of a few thousand shameless Malaysian females.

Alright now, gotta sleep. :B

World Cup Winners Spain, Imam Muda, Gang-Trip, Naz the Hero and other Assorted Ramblings.

I seem to have a problem of keeping my blog active.

You see, those bloggers with 200++ followers I believe tend to have an unhealthy tendencies of blogging every day - posting useless stuffs such as uploading sexually suggestive pictures of themselves licking a sundae at one of the few hundred McD's in the country to writing friendship/romantic poems that rival the great Shakespeare in the sense that they are hard to understand - and of course, "blogwalking", which is a new word I picked up earlier this year for people with no life or those who are close to commit suicide out of boredom, stalking other people's blog and leaving comments on your blog while making shameless plugs for others to visit, which I can shamelessly admit of doing so sometimes at those blogs owned by some *coughs* hot chicks. :B

But at least I didn't do it everyday...

Anyways, back to the mission of trying to prolong the longetivity of this blog, I have decided to go gung-ho in this post by "updating" you Zaid of the future, and of course to his 18++ followers (and those who I will shamelessly tag on facebook), on whatever things I'll be posting in right about now...
  1. Spain won the World Cup 5 days ago and the entire event saw several stars announcing their presence in the world stage. Mesut Ozil and Kaisuke Honda are just 2 of the names that might be in hot pursuit of a few hundred thousand "Football Managers" worldwide when the next edition of FM comes out. But one star in particular is nontransferable - at least not in the celebrated football management simulation - which is Paul the Psychic seafood, which as of yesterday or so just transferred to a Madrid zoo in an exchange of another animal and a few cash. The octopus endured a lot in this year's World Cup; it managed to predict 8 games straight correctly and survived countless death threats along the way; from being "properly" beaten and cooked by an Argentinian celebrity chef in his cooking show to being publicly barbecued by angry Germans and to being transferred into a tank of sharks.
  2. For 2 weeks, I still have yet to get my class and course registration problem sorted. I, Zaid Mohamad would like to blame the bloody UiTM computer system for responding like a battered snail on stout cos it took me forever to access whatever server they offer us to get our registration settled. I would also like to blame the (20k++ thousand) new students who I assume have caused the "traffic-jams" in the system. And not to forget, the new KP for causing confusions of perilous proportion, causing irreversible damage to my morale for the new semester by separating me with my "gang" and having me to make do with Pingu for yet presumably another miserable semester.
  3. "Hello! I think I like you still. Any chance this time around? I love your specs". - What do you look for in a woman? Do you look for someone who is motherly or someone who wears nice specs? Or someone who can bake cheesecakes?
  4. Had a gang-trip to a waterfall in Lata Mengkuang (sp?) last Friday. I was wearing the kopiah my mom bought me from Uzbekistan and together with Topek, we managed to scare the shit out of this pair of love birds whom we assumed were making underwater sexual act. They immediately left the water upon seeing my colourful kopiah head and even offered us a senyum kambing, filled with guilt. I still feel good about it, Imam Muda will be proud of me.
  5. Watched Despicable Me in SP and I give it a 3.5/5. An excellent movie for the family. But some Indian parents left their noisy Indian children to roam around the place as if it's a nursery or sorts. Or were they making sex at the back? Imam Muda should be alert about this!
  6. Right after that, mighty Naz drove all 14 of us to a hot spring which Ain and Wawa told me is a place very near to Kulim. We arrived there around 2.30am and the place was awesome. Though the sights of the much sought after steamy moments of couples engaging in steamy sexual acts are few and mild at best, the steamy water and good company pretty much made up for the disappointment. Mighty Naz then went on to drive again the legendary white Ford (or was it a Nissan?) van despite the obvious lack of sleep (popular belief suggests he stayed up for 22 hours) and all 15 of us arrived safely in Araustralia around 9am. We were lost along the way before we reached "home", though.
  7. I've been living on potato and corn chips for the past 3 days. The addiction returns... And oh! Twisties' Bolognese&Cheese Onion is A.W.E.S.O.M.E.!!!!
  8. Underwear is for losers who pretend that they fight for freedom without actually practicing it.
  9. As of 12am today, the price of petrol has gone up by 5 cents per litre and the IMF projection for inflation in ACP (average consumer price) for this year of 2% might be an understatement. I expect more when the IMF staff revised their projection come September. This year might be the highest since Pak Lah went nuts by increasing the petrol price and affected the price of goods to a whooping 5.4% inflation rate in 2008. (Average inflation rate since the 1997 crisis was 2-3% based on IMF and the CIA World Factbook). We need subsidies still lar Najib. We produce oil maaa...

The closest resemblance of the van that took us around Kedah.

Imam Muda is 3rd from left. And mighty Naz is avoiding the B.O. from Topek's stinky armpits.

Almost exactly 4 years ago, I was in KMK.
I was lost in the midst of a grueling 8-hour lectures, labs and tutorials, the alienating feeling of Kelantanism, the amazing combo of ikan jeket and air paip for lunch and dinner, and the miserable lab reports that seemed to be a never ending horror. And as of July 5th that year, mid sem exam did not even fear half of my butt chic.
And I was lamenting the need for the library to block Friendster (remember that thing?).
There was a chick from life science, she's cute but she had a small line of mustache on her lips. Or something like that.

Almost exactly 4 years ago, it was a World Cup year.
Kaka was still an AC Milan player, and Dida was the undisputed number 1. Made-in-Inter Calciopoli was being investigated by the court, and clubs fear of being penalized.
Italy started their World Cup campaign in the usual slow manner, and gathered momentum as the the tournament progressed. They played extremely well, and defensively Italian - Buffon only conceded 2 goals; an own-goal and a penalty - and Canavarro was Baresi and Gattuso was a beast.

4 years on, I'm about to return to my Arau campus.
Lectures, lab and tutorials won't steal away 8 hours of my life every weekdays there, the number of Kelantanese people I have to deal with is enough to make them feel that THEY are the aliens, ikan jaket and air paip is now consigned to the far-away history of my personal dark age, and I have no lab reports to deal with whatsoever. Hell, I don't even have lab in the first place. Though finance assignments might affect my frail health again come next semester.
Friendster is now ancient history as Facebook and last.fm make headways, and I have my own personal broadband that blocks nothing on the web whatsoever.
There's a girl, she was in a different class last semester. She looks decent and seamlessly stole my heart. I still can't get her out of my system.

4 years on, it's another World Cup year.
Kaka is now a Real Madrid player, and Dida returns to Brazil. Inter the cheater capitalized on the Calciopoli that wrongfully affected her other rivals, and has now built a strong team. Indeed, because of Calciopoli.
Italy started their World Cup campaign slowly, only to fail to gather momentum and stumbled at the first hurdle. Defensively Italy were not being Italian, Buffon was injured - Machetti conceded 4 of the 5 goals mostly from set pieces - Canavarro played like a retired star on an exhibition match, and Gattuso only had his facial hair to show that he is still a beast. Inter Milan failed to provide a single Italian of note who can contribute greatly for the national team. Apart from Calciopoli, Inter's lack of Italian players in the first team did Italy a disservice.

Vuvuzela My Arse!

Unless you've been on planet Mars for the past week, you will know that the greatest show on Earth is well underway. For once, the sound of swarming locusts that is the "vuvuzela" did us men a "favour", for it has been masking the sounds of breaking hearts of millions of women from all over the world due to having their husbands'/boyfriends' attentions towards them stolen swiftly under their pretty oily noses by the one and only ultimate sporting event, the World Cup.

Definitely relationships have been put on hold and most likely suffered. Frankly, I don't care cause I'm single, and I'm determined to savour every minute of football on offer.

And, with regards to the vuvuzela, that "favour" happen to be the only "favour" it did to this year's World Cup. And even that is non-existent. Unless you've gone mental, you can't possibly hear the sound of a heart snapped into two can you??

Which leads me to this. For those who have been watching the World Cup in mute or just returned from Mars, the vuvuzela is a plastic horn that produces a monotonous din which can reach 144 decibel, which if it is blown in unison by 50 thousand people (for maximum effect, in a stadium), can equal the sound of a jet taking off. And even the sound of a jet taking off doesn't last for 90 minutes, plus the rest time in between two halves which I presume, is equivalent to the sound of hell.

Comments I've read about the noise that comes out from the vuvuzela though varied, have one common theme. The sound have been compared to...

"the noise of stampeding elephants, a goat on the way to slaughter and "a giant hive of very angry bees" - The Sun

"The raucous plastic trumpets (the vuvuzelas) have been accused of destroying World Cup spirit by preventing fans from singing uplifting traditional songs such as Ronaldo Is A Wanker, Henri Is A Wanker, Messi Is A Wanker, and the evergreen German favourite, Rooney Ist Eine Wenker." - hayibo.com, a political satire site

A facebook protest group called FIFA - BAN THE ANNOYING VUVUZELA (HORN) FROM THE SOUTH AFRICA WORLD CUP! was set up on June 11th this year, and has gathered 249000 (I'm one of them) angry fans as of 17th June and counting.

A friend named Syed Q. Hikma posted this in his fb status, "kalau vuvuzela tu orang, gerenti ramai dah tumbuk sampai pecah mulut~"

Even sensible South Africans themselves are appalled towards the vuvuzela die-hards (Sepp Blatter of Feefa and the selfish so called African nationalists who have no knowledge of the roots of the vuvuzela history, which is surprisingly a Mexican product), claiming that the selfish attitude of the host nation - acting as if they're the king of the world by hosting the event - towards the mounting complaints will only result in people hating them forever after the tournament ends and will ensure that the World Cup will never ever return to South Africa. Ever.

And I am already agreeing to the notion.

Ten hours ago, Diego Forlan became a hero not just for Uruguay but for football fans all around the world (except South Africa) with his brace which according to a fan, managed to reduce the vuvus by 80% and have reminded us all what a great football match feels like even for only 10 minutes.

So ladies and gentlemen, if vuvuzela has anything to do with the African culture, I dare say there is more culture in my yoghurt!

VUVUZELA MY ARSE!!!

By the way, I came across this video to cheer myself up a little...

World Cup Fever Does Not Cause You to Have A Rise in Body Temperature, And Women in football Jerseys Look Hot!

Ok, I'm busy. And I haven't updated anything blog-worthy of late.

Though I do have many things to say, yet the feeling of wanting to put my thoughts on screen is rather taxing. Which gives an impression that I'm rather lazy. Haih.

In the meantime, as a way to analyze my academic progress, barring the last 2 sems, I bring you Zaid of the future, your result for semester 3.

Which brings us to this...
  1. It was stated that the result will come out at 12pm on June 10th, right after the Senate meeting. Whatever that meeting is about, they should have discussed about the UiTM server problem which caused thousands of UiTM students to stare at the screen in desperation, failing to even access their own student portal so that they can check their exam results. And it remained that way for about 12 hours plus, much to the horror of these people.
  2. It also led to a bunch of frustrated UiTM kids to create a facebook protest group, venting their anger at the social networking site. I lost the link to the group.
  3. I am not a part of that group.
  4. It took away most people's feeling of preresult-release anxiety and changed it with sheer feeling of frustration which usually leads to expletive-rich grumblings.
  5. Deep inside I was planning to murder whoever responsible for this.
The World Cup started 2-days back. And it somehow led me to these thoughts...

  1. Women in football jerseys look hot!
  2. Don't ever challenge a bunch of Brazilians to a game of park football. Ever.
  3. The vuvuzella should be banned. Or else I have to watch the games in mute.
  4. Come to think of it, if your girlfriend likes football, you're a happy couple.
  5. Maradona is a walrus.
  6. I should start playing "real" football. Dah lama tak main...

Not exactly football jerseys but these are fine saucy footy chicks ey? Another reason to support the Italians! FORZA ITALIAAA!!! I love you Italia chicks!!! xD

THIS is what I meant by jerseys :B

I don't think I have made any significant progress to my 79-item to-do list. So many still, yet so little time... damn!

And I think I've lost my writing skills...

If Only They Still Don't Know How to Use the Computers.

The only reason soccernet is much better than goal.com is that soccernet rarely/doesn't have useless comments from glory hunting nigerian/african readers.

I'm longing to post this into the comment box... to the glory hunters of africa...

Just stick to your fucking team, respect others, and don't degrade other teams as if you are a football pundit. And learn how to type like a proper man damn it! And of course, brush up your fucking English before you post a fucking comment! I am fucking sick of wasting my time reading unintelligible/useless comments from you fucking nigerians at goal!

But goal.com has better Seria A news coverage. The world is not fair!!!

The Year That Was - 2009

X-mas was 4 days ago (also the pagans celebrated the winter's solstice) and in 3 days time we're all set for a brand spanking new year! So, in between x-mas and the countdown party to the New Year's Day, some of us might take this time to reflect on the year that is about to pass - 2009.

Which is what I'm doing for this post.

Unlike the years past, this time I will give comments on whether the things I've gone through this year is a good thing or a bad thing. That is to say, it will be easier for me to judge whether this year is a good year or a bad year. And it seems that posting things into blogs and having a fb account kinda help in recalling the memories - oh, I didn't waste my time that bad it seems! So, here goes...

I made a new year's resolution. For almost 10 years since the day I realised that there are people who create targets for them to achieve in a short time span of 1 year, I (Zaid Mohamad) have been quite a fan of creating new year's resolution. I think the idea of making one shows how ambitious you are. You have a target to achieve, you have bad things in you that you want to change - that said, you realise your weakness(es) and that means you're in the right path to become a proper person. Yes!

But during the same 10 years I too realised that I rarely look at them, lest trying to do any of the things listed in it. So for the year 2009 I made this - complete with a hot chick in it and being a pc background regular for almost 2 months. So Zaid of the future, lets analyse this together shall we?

  • Fitter, happier, more productive - I'm stil 53kg. My dad accuses me of worshiping talking skeletons due to my small arms and small frame making me the odd one out in a family of healthy happy eating people. I rarely carry weights or heavy stuffs and I didn't join any physical-based activities/sports. Except for golf. But I think that was last year. I'm still single and desperate. But I'm fairly happy with how things are going at the moment. I didn't get a job (or tried to get one) so I'm not productive. How I see it - bad
  • Breakfast, vegies... - Like most people I know at UiTM Perlis, breakfast is as common to them as tree eating aliens. But at least I'm starting to open up to more types of vegies other than sayur kobis, kacang, tomatoes (which for the purpose to beef up this segment-is a fruit btw), carrots and mushrooms. How I see it - good, I'm eating vegies almost everyday now
  • Complete assignments within time, getting 4.0 - AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! How I see it - bad, bad , bad!!!
  • Excercise at gym 3 times a week - Bullshit, but at least I jogged about 10 times until... February? How I see it - bad
  • Be polite - I think my mom has instilled into me the basics (saying thank you, greet people, open doors to others, giving away my seat to old people). And I'm pretty convinced I've cut my sarcasm out into half (haha). I rarely encounter any animals nowadays. HISI - good
  • Overall for new year's resolution - Quite balanced, but it tilts towards bad more, thanks to the assignments part. BAD
  • Masterminded a charity drive to help the Palestinians. As president of ACELS, and having a paltry army of active members of 5 (then), though last minute, we managed to collect about RM300 in less than 3 hours! Good PR excercise, and for a good cause. How I see it - good
  • In January I knew that I'll become 21 in two months time. So I thought I was young. Not until I rode a mechanical superquick merry-go-round (substitute the horsies with spaceships) at a fun fare in Arau and went neuseatic(sp?) and had to return to campus with the aid from a police officer on duty (he initially thought I was drunk) at his conviniently placed pondok polis, just next to the fun fare, with many fun fare goers fixing their eyes at my "drunkenness". Masjid buddies Amin and Anwar returned to campus wayyy later. How I see it - bad, I just posed myself as a drunkard to the Arau public.
  • Kaka left Milan for Madrid - Initially - like any other fans - I was opposed to this move. But in the end its not so bad afterall. Especially having watched them beat Real at the Bernebeu(sp?) 3-2 was a footballing justice. How I see it - good
  • Organised different activities for ACELS, and succeeding in each one of them. - Scrabble, KL trip (though met a few bitches), sketch competitions, charity drive, all were good. I'm impressed myself! HISI - good
  • Shaalini, Michael Jackson, Yasmin Ahmad, some prominent Malaysian academic, Keith Floyd, several Hollywood celebrities and other famous people who I can't recall at the moment died this year. HISI - its always not good when it comes to death.
  • Swine flu, and the UiTM swine flu break - I think in general, Malaysia is not affected that bad. And the swine flu break was rather timely. HISI - good
  • McCurry 1-0 McDonalds - In the spirit of Malaysia boleh!, we beat the hell out of the greedy Americans. And I read in FHM not long ago, that this case is famous worldwide! For a moment, amidst the tiring political climate that have blanketed Malaysia since the Bodohwi era, I feel proud to be a Malaysian. HISI - good
  • I changed the blog appearance - Its long overdued, but worth it. HISI - good
  • The UiTM Perlis library internet is fucking slow - I'm impressed that we managed to get an ISO award for the library. But then again, even Malaysia's fastest internet provider is a joke to compare with other countries. I remember that because of the poor internet speed, investors from Australia opted to pull out their millions of dollars of investment into our country. HISI - bad for the economy. bad for fb junkies.
  • I created a twitter account - I don't know how to use it. People say its fun. But I'm still in the dark at this one. Perhaps I've just wasted 1 hour of my life creating a twitter account. I hope I find it useful in the future. HISI - bad
  • Becoming an emcee at Arau Open Debating Championship 2009 - The organising team was great. We did the impossibles! And for the first few weeks after then I was genuinely missing those people. HISI - good

  • Still in the "range" - Academically, the CGPA went down like a squirrel being shot by a BB gun. But still, I defied all odds. Cramming everything during exam weeks still works for me. Though this year's results have been taking way too many of my pointers. Especially the most recent one. I think I will get kicked in the balls by myself from part 3, if ever time travel is made possible. HISI - bad, efforts done during the first 3 sems wasted.
  • Twilight - Girls and gaylords have been crazy about a certain Rob Pat. But now it seems the power shift has tilted a bit towards the Jacob camp. But really, the Maldives are getting drowned and its getting ever hotter outside. Some shitty novels shouldn't be screened, but its Hollywood stuff and some hot guys act in it. And now more trees will be killed for more lousy novels such as this (and for the movie promos and posters). Those groupies should support against global warming. HISI - bad
  • Scored a band 8 for my IELTS - Woh, giler ah! HISI - good
  • Had a solo trip to Langkawi - I learned that without your parents around, you can actually do many things like walking at the beach till 3am sipping a hot and refreshing cup of teh-o', after introducing some hot foreign chicks in a 2-piece bikinis to nasi paprik (which they all love) and some Halloween partying. And I went to a spa for a Thai massage (RM70 well spent, and its the first time having a proper massage). All this during the exam week! Overall, it tastes like freedom. HISI -goooooddd
  • Smoked cigars - I think it's like fried fish. Some people like it, some people hate it. I don't have anything against them, the health ministry said it kills - but the air is polluted enough anyway - but I still can't get the hang out of it. Even after almost a box of it. It's overrated, but its a useful ice-breaking tool. HISI - good for experience
  • Arrested by pak guards - UiTM Perlis pak guards are a bunch of assholes. Especially the head of the pak guards. They're so uptight, act as if they're the most proper, well mannered people. Trivial matters such as having (tolerable) long hair is seen as a crime in their eyes. They should die a slow death. HISI - good. At least I realise who this bunch are.
  • Paid a simple visit to my old house in Georgetown - Its occupied so I can't get in. But at least I know that the house is pink and gay. And they have installed gates! HISI - is of sentimental value. good.

  • Had the worst ever fever I could remember - I tought it was swine flu. It was not. I was left limping on the bed unable to turn my body sideways due to a chronic cough disease stemming from Indonesia's casual attitude towards Malaysian air space - haze. And I missed the grad year dinner. HISI - bad
  • I met Man Kidal - the Axe Man! - good

  • World economic recession - Retrenchment towards 100k Malaysians is a very very huge number. Price of food still high though didn't escalate like during Bodohwi's management. There's a slight deflation, though nothing significant. Investors who bought equities while the KLCI was 600 should be eating lobsters for snack by now. How I see it - bad. I didn't invest in equities.
  • Had casual relationships - With a few girls. Though not serious but the dates at least gave me other things to do other than facebooking fiercely like a woman possessed. How I see it - good
  • Broke my dad's car side mirror - A red lorry did it dad. A RED lorry! How I see it - bad
  • Malaysia bought an F1 team - Unlike last year's (or last last year's) Malaysian government publicity stunt in sending a space tourist (and half a billion ringgit) to... outer space, though the 1Malaysia racing team have caused a almost similar stir in our country as to why the tax payers money are used on something useless instead of towards the welfare of the populace, somehow I see it as an exciting investment. If we can get a few points that is. HISI - bad. They should use the money as scholarships to desperate deserving young Malaysians (please lar JPA)
  • Offered a degree in finance. At Arau campus. HISI - bad because I need a breath of fresh air. Its getting stale in there.
  • Blogged at least one topic per month. Not a bad attempt to prolong the usefullness of this blog. And somehow I feel accomplished. HISI - good
Overall - Quantitatively, good scored a 17, beating bad by 1 point. So its good 17-16 bad. But given the tight score, and the varying degrees of good and bad (which is another quantitative matter) and several other details that I refrain from putting or simply failed to recall at the moment, I shall brand this year, a pretty good year.

p/s : Just bought a cheap RM93 Nokia1202. Text me people. And I love Kim Tae-Hee.

Work From a 16-year-old

I found something. Something interesting. While scouring through my recently reactivated deviantart account, I stumbled upon a poem/song which surprisingly, received (by my own abysmal standard) a healthy number of comments for any of my uploaded "artworks".

And I couldn't believe I used to pledge my allegiance (support) to Moronho whose currently a foul-mouthed boss of a non-Italian team in Seria-A.

Mr Wenger

Arsene Wenger, Arsenal,
Playing balls with their anals,
What the hell is wrong with these seniles?
Fluke wins, drugs i think,
Oh pardon me, please dont sue me,
Oh please.

(chorus)
Mr Wenger please control your anger,
I know that im dead jealous,
But one thing for sure,
At the end of the year,
Chelsea will be victorious!!!

yeah!yeah!yeah!yeah and yes!

Thierry Henry drinking tea,
Feeling sad inside his pants,
No wonder he's as fast as the bee,
Oh sorry, that's just my filthy rant.

(chorus)
Mr Wenger please control your anger,
I know that im dead jealous,
But one thing for sure,
At the end of the year,
Chelsea will be victorious!!!

yeah!yeah!yeah!yeah! and yes!

Jens Lehman,
I know you suck as a man,
With you in between the goal posts,
We know we can always score 3 goals.

(chorus)
Mr Wenger please control your anger,
I know that im dead jealous,
But one thing for sure,
At the end of the year,
Chelsea will be victorious!!!

yeah!yeah!yeah!yeah! and yes!

And Oh my, oh my,
Arsenal will gonna die...

x_x"

*this is a rap/hip-hop song ala Beastie Boys, with heavy drum beats and squinky turn tables and also to make it a lil bit like rap core, heavy distortion guitar is in use... this song will last around 2 minutes i think...peace!!!

p/s : dont sue me if you think you're brave enough to face this.

Is In a Relationship and What Will Happen if Robert Pattinson is Gay?

So I lost my phone during my 2nd last day in UiTM Perlis.

Yes, THAT amazing Sony Ericcson w595. Unscratched, undamaged supercool stuff.

Apparently, some asshole stole it. And obviously I'm holding grudges towards the bloody thief. The idea of mutilating his body or his face with
a blunt butcher knife and a motor-powered drill or get a libido-high gorilla with a giant cactus for a penis to rape him and do an Anwar Ibrahim to his fucking asshole are too irresistable to fend off for a few days. That guy should die of AIDS from being fucked by a gorilla (and of bleeding too much in the ass because of it) and die slowly in some dirty little ally amongst some stray dogs. And go straight to hell after that.

Well, I guess I haven't lost my power of imagination. Seems that mentally undressing ppl is indeed a good mental exercise... xP

That aside, I just returned from Perlis for Bengkel IELTS. IELTS is a tough shit. Its all about speed, racing against time to finish off essays and speed reading the articles for the reading part seems to be the only way to finish answering all the questions on time. Being a slow reader definitely doesn't help. I just need a band 6 minimum.

Scholarship offers tend to have a certain trend in its application date. I need to be alert come next March and April. And January too. Btw, I could've applied for maxis scholarship yesterday if not for the discriminative rule which requires me or anyone in the family to be a existing maxis postpaid user. I'm quite confident of getting them if not for this pathetic rule.

My current facebook relationship status is "currently in a relationship". I was showered with congratulations and whose-the-lucky-lady questions. I feel kinda guilty to say that I'm in a relationship with Football Manager 2010. The game has many new interesting additions to it and tactically challenging.

Tough love? haha...

Oh, and AC Milan is doing great in the race for scudetto! And UCL too!!! Both in real life and FM10! Forza Rossoneri!!! xD

Aaaaand... with all the craze shit about a certain "Rob Pat" that has been littering my facebook, I wonder what will happen if the guy is gay?

  1. Many girls will wail at night in disbelief for a couple of weeks and won't go out to see the light of day in protest of it.
  2. My facebook will be littered with disbelieving/depressive/tragic/mad/self-consoling status from his fangirls and there'll be a Rob Pat gaylords fb fangroup.
  3. There'll be a power shift from the Edward camp to Jacob (no, I'm not a fanboy).
  4. There'll be a protest group of die hard fangirls and various gay right groups will demand equal rights while fighting against them.
  5. Non die hards will contribute greatly to the piling garbage in the garbage collection/recycling centre all over the world with many of his posters/unsent love letters/cards will be sent to these centres instead (owh, think about the trees!).
  6. The next Twilight installation won't be a hit, but a $hit (not good for marketing).

Btw, am I the only one not feeling anything about leaving UiTM Perlis? Coz many ppl do. I might have to continue there next year though...

Seriously, the thief should die a slow and painful death.

I Just got Myself a Twitter

...I created the twitter account yesterday. After 2 months of internet inactivity from my laptop resulted from default broadband bills.

I had to pay about Rm250 to get it reconnected =B

In another news, AC Milan continued their terrible form from pre-season with a 0-0 draw to a team tipped for relegation from seria A, livorno last saturday. although it has only been 3 competetive matches, it seems all hope is lost for a silverware this season. The transfer policy makes me sick to the core. Talking about being sick, i had one of the worst fever i can remember. It was a 40 celcius and i was left limping on my bed, unable to turn my body sideways. I missed the grad year dinner, got myself a 1 week break and it was the 3rd fever i had this semester.

I thought i could die.

Youtube is a fascinating creation. i just discovered one of the best comics around and ladies and gentlemen, enter Demitri Martin.

I shopped at topman for my baju raya during the swine flu break. I bought a straw hat for rm39. I wanna go to essex to study accounting with finance. Or maybe, banking with finance. Malaysian politics has gone from worse to worst. I wanna get married quick coz i cant hold it much longer. I'm just so happy to have my internet back. I cant stop listening to empire of the sun's walking on a dream.

I have nothing else to say.

Checking Out Pulau Redang

I think im seeing signs that the world is getting ever nearer to apocalypse. You see, last monday the footballing world were given a stunner with Kaka's 67.2m euros move to real madrid which left the milan fans crying. Skip a few days later, we're left baffled with the mighty amount of 80m pounds (a world record) for the ungrateful-egoistic-circus-diver ronaldo of man utd. Then there are reports that a hundred million more euros are going to be spent by the galacticos on ribery, david villa and silva.

It got me thinking, how the hell did real madrid has such a ridiculous amount of money to spend? And to spend big on ronaldo the monkey is beyond me. No one is worth that much amount of money. No one. I just wish they end up bankurpt like leeds and parma for buying kaka! And hey! We haven't recovered fully from the world economic recession have we?
Enough with that, im currently pretty excited with the trip to pulau redang which is set to be on any day next week. Just have to pack the bags and wait. I haven't been there my entire life, so this will be my first time. Thus am currently browsing through the "things-to-do" in pulau redang and it happened to be that snorkeling and diving are the primary tourist activities there.

So the signs are encouraging. Reviewers gave good reviews and the pictures, fascinating. But whenever i feel like everything is going to plan, there will always, ALWAYS be something blocking the way. For all the snorkeling and diving spots they have, i could've been even more excited - intoxicated even - if not for my inability to swim without flailing my arms and legs like a tortured chimpanzee.
That said, i can't swim without the life jacket.

Nazar-ria, "I Don't Belong to Money", Economy Today and Assorted Rantings

I don't feel any guilty whenever i post stuffs at the acels weblog. So i don't really mind playing with words and give my long gone sarcasm a blockbuster return.

Like the last 2 posts i made.

Mind you its the official club site. Its not that people who concerns with the club will gonna read em! i might even post my jamban pix if i wanted to!

Another news this week is about my team AC Milan (not the lousy khairy jamaludin's myteam) whose bid from the mega rich arab sheiks of manchester city worth 100M pounds for Kaka' was turned down by the player after a tiring week long transfer saga. Kaka' might earn himself a whooping 500k pounds a week if he signed. in this case, to say the world is facing a economic catastrophe might be an overblown thunder in a cup! or are we having a 1000% inflation rate from last year?

So to those who plays man city in their fm'09, you might be able to buy him but in real life, don't dream lar mangkoks! and to the pak sheiks of man city, isn't it better if you spend the money for the palestinians, or donate to the poor instead of pouring it all on a single guy?
Anyhows, i guess its back to the laze days perhaps given the loadshit of works to be done for club and class. CNY is a blessing! I can't seem to bare witness to the suffocating february plans that consists of a trip, test, seminar, another trip, drama competition, tutoring UPSR kids english, test, test, test... I don't think i can lepak kedai nasi kandar sampai malam anymore this coming brake!
I'm fasting so i can't run around flailing my arms in public, and today is the fourth day out of seven. its puasa nazar cos i got a fluke result last sem that i uh... was planning to post the screenshot like the past three i did earlier. not that i scored a 4.0, but i got lucky to still be in the "range" and the mighty loads of deduction of pointers was highly justified. and i was fearing for not being able to get into that "range" which resulted in me nazaring.
heh.

To those who know me well, i don't look good in pictures - unless if i photo edit the stuff - but these ones are some of that rare moments that i have to put it here to remind me that lighting and angle are important in taking pix! here goes...

no photo edit, and i looked like that hollywood actor who drove the farmers' SUV in a jack johnson video.

reaction to the miserable looking february plans...

having 6 tests in a row can result in mental agony like this one! or maybe it was the 10-hour tuesday lecture schedule.
Last post i was brimming with energy to put up my pictures for the boycott program. i'm kinda lazy to put it up since i've put some already at the club blog.

The world economy is bad, retrenchment of about 100k workers are expected this year, with some people predict the domino efx from the US recession will hit malaysia hardest this june. I bet it'll hit us earlier! The government still haven't declared recession just yet but the stocks exchange dropped to 880 the last time i checked from the usual 900 of 2008. I read in the papers that US banks lose USD 3.6 trillion. but their initials(correct me if im wrong) are USD 1.4 trillion. they simply can't pay their own debts, how can they lend money!?

The Wallstreet should be sentenced to death by stonning!

Ummm... Happy New Year?

The Islamic new year had just passed some time last december, then the grogorian one some 8 days ago, oh well, the chinese one is still around the corner.

Well, happy new year anyway. wahahahaha...

so this is the time where people'll make this pointless resolutions. have you? of course lar...

so mine goes like this... do you know radiohead's "fitter happier" thing? if not go google it out. Google.
mine goes along that way plus plus plus... some other assorted resolutions that i might well forget it one day and discover it once i browsed back the old posts like what i did just now. and for your information it so happened that i have none for last year! i have nothing to say about it. blergh!

so whats for this year? here goes :

1 - be fitter, happier and more productive.
2 - do not skip bfast. include vegies in meals. less saturated fat or fried food. cut down the crap!
3 - do well in exams. score a 4 flat and no less. complete assignments before due date. without "modifying" other's work.
4 - get regular excercises at the gym, 3 times a week. or jog for starters.

So the new year's day was practically rubbish. theres no new year's holiday in this bloody perlis. wtf with that? have they got no census? have they lost their mind? have they got no blain? cannot think??? fuck it, it shouldnt even be a state at first.

ALL HAIL KEDAH!

by the way, kedah now sucked at football. 4-1 thrashing by selangor at our own stadium? i miss marlon man, marlon is king! now fuck the FAM for abolishing the "having foreigners policy". local players learn from them stupid! now where the hell are they gonna learn all this fancy football techniques from? apek cina? mat remput? macha roti canai??? fuck the management. they shouldnt even run football. just go with your politics kj, dont touch football damnit. look what uve done! we sucked even further down the football echelon(sp?).
did anyone watch the "other final" on discovery some few years back about the two worst ranked footballing country playing each other in tibet? it was tibet vs montserray(sp?). i guess one day malaysia will play in that final. it'll be tibet vs malaysia. just wait and see.

it might even come sooner!

back to the perlis suck thing. why no holidays? and the classes started that day and i was bloody busy attending all this classes and to my dissapointment, the lecturers too were absent. might be enjoying the pre new year's party.

haih. so i was exhausted trying to be that obedient smarty pants... and i impressed no one cept myself. its like... wanking a can :B. and impressively enough to impress a hot chick in bikinis to smack you in the face, encik mail wasnt home so i cant watch that 30 rock marathon on star world. ahhh, tina fey... I LOVE YOU!!! tssk tssk tssk...

i guess ive wasted too much time here. the librarian might chase me out. im posting wall-to-wall comments on facebook. weeheehee...

now i have to print out the tuition bills. and pay.

EURO 2008

Weird things had and will always happen, and the area for such things to happen is as broad as the surface of planet earth. and beyond.

Apart from looking for weird stuff out of youtube and unibrow, i stumbled upon an article from soccernet about the austrian people made a petition to pull their national football team out of the upcoming euro 08. people would think they are crazy. and that was what exactly my thought at first. but not until i read further down the article explaining their purpose which read :

"The website of the 'Österreich zeigt Rückgrat' (Austria shows Character) campaign states: 'It cannot be denied: the performance of the Austrian team is an insult to your sense of aesthetics as well as to what you expect from this sport. Their participating in Euro 2008 is to you a contradiction in itself.'
It might sound like a joke, but the organisers of the campaign are quite serious and are genuinely concerned that rather than being a chance to showcase Austrian culture and hospitality to the world, Euro 2008 represents a unique opportunity for painful humiliation on a global scale. "

That part hits straight to the bulls eye! now, when talking about a team with no previous records of qualifying for euros and being among the worlds best in football just below the mighty mozambique (90) and guatemala (89), it somehow strucked me.

A year back, there was a similar continental tournament took place in our shores. The Asia Cup.

The Malaysian football team kit was sterling.

THEY HAD NIKE AS KIT SPONSORS!

Ahhhh... and the black and yellow stripes were the craze back then, though only during the build up to the tournament and never to get past the one month mark after that!

So the kit was grand, the team played even better, justifying their tag as the world's 169th best football team (and can be conveniently found at the last page in the fifa ranking at fifa.com). being battered by continental heavyweights + the non heavyweights. hey, we were even struggling to get past singapore (128), oh i forgot we should struggle coz they are ranked 41 places above us!!!

Anyhow, what strucked me earlier is that, given the similarities between us and austria, at least a few malaysians shouldve been enlighten enough (i wasnt one unfortunately, and neither one of the 20 million) to follow their lead. surprisingly, there werent any. or not surprisingly, no one bothered. i wasn't bothered. well, bar the sport science students.

It was well known and documented about the power our national team possess. goal.com made the team a laughing stock last year. if england's failing to get past the qualifying stage for euro 08 got the team butchered in the media, i wonder why our national team players+coach werent murdered that time. oh i get it, this stupid team doesnt deserve a coverage in our papers. its a waste of trees sacrificed to tell how good they are at giving away posessions and space and letting in goals. ah, i give up.

Malaysian football suck cocks!

oh, and pak lah just showcased his talent in leading the country with oil price hike of almost 100%. brilliant!

This is Terrible.

Its official, AC Milan is out of next season's uefa champions league. Fucker!

So what now mr ancelloti? As expected wayyy at the start of the season, we're deprived of young quality blood! and now we're out of ucl. shit! how will i face all those manure and inter fans! sheebye!!!

and because of this, i dont think ronaldinho will join us next season. and gattuso is moving out to bayern. kaka is back in everyone's wanted list radar. hell.

FUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!

Ok now, part 2.

National service is no more just a waste of tax payers money. It is also dangerous. As evidenced by this, this and this.

16 (wud u believe this?), 16 trainees died of ns since 2004. that makes it 4 deaths/year! and this is MALAYSIAN national service. no deaths reported in Singapore's + Taiwan's ns.

gila babi dangerous. that equals the number of fatalities from shark attacks in the US in 2005 and 2006! well, consider me a survivor then.

I SURVIVED NATIONAL SERVICE DAMNIT!

alhamdulillah.

Part 3.

Had a chat with an ex-classmate of mine. i was informed by her that the girl i used to have a terrible crush for two and a half years had moved out to seremban.

I guess, pretty much thats it. I dont think we'll be seeing each other again. Good luck if you happen to read this. Oh, and radiohead rocks indeed!

Part 4.

I had just finished watching Sassy Girl Chun Hyang. and thats the first korean drama series that i managed to finish. i wish i have a hottie like the main actress for a gf..

Having said that, there's a striking resemblance between her and my gf last year. Odd.

Oh, and i just finished watching Zombie Kampung Pisang on Astro. It is sooo in my top 10 fav movie list (not that im a movie buff, so pardon me sir).

I'm done.

The Year That Was 2007

Christmas has just passed (raya haji passed 3 days earlier) and in 3 days time i'm all in for a new year! So in between xmas and new year's day, some of us might take this time to reflect the year that is about to go down as another year that doesn't just makes up our age, but the nostalgia - bitter and sweet - that comes together with it.

With the help from my previous posts, i managed to recapture the moments that define the year 2007 for me. (though not all due to the time constrains and having to multiple tasks a few programs over here)
1 - I started the year with a feeling so low that i even considered different ways of suicide sometimes (drinking poison, jumping off from a building, poison myself AND jumping off from a building. im not creative man). i was a bit uncertain about quiting matrix and got my arse in to UiTM. its an unnecessary "facelift". but somehow the fresh feeling when i got there (albeit it took me about a month to adjust to the surroundings) got me thinking that i might well have made the right choice. whatmore, if i did continue in matrix, the chance for me to study abroad is absolute zero. and the fact that there is a 50-50 chance that if i am to score a killer cgpa i might well stand a chance to go the US got me even thrilled. in some odd ways, i am still in contact with my matrix friends and not all are rosy over there. some have gone to maktab perguruan to become teachers and others went to universities and got themselves weird and predictably low prospect courses. thats not to say that there isn't anyone getting that killer courses, instead there are lots of them as well. but judging for myself on how far i could go, the killer courses is a far far stretch from reality. good thing i moved out. and economics seems to fit well into my system! oh, and as of now, i managed a cgpa of 3.94!
2 - 2007 saw me doing weird stuffs. people do weird things for survival you know and in my case, the year 2007 saw me donating blood, riding the train home and back to campus and played in a band (brass band, not rock band). these are simply too weird, i can't even imagine doing those stuff before i got there. but i glad i did. : )
bukti derma darah!

3 - I had my first real girlfriend.
parts and parcels of growing up i guess. the date, texting till dusk, bday gifts, etc are fun. the ditching part too. xD

4 - Discovered great music.
I used to only listen to alternative rock, prog rock and any other mainstream type of rock music. not anymore, since i got serious with sputnikmusic, i discovered a whole new spectrum of wonderful music. suddenly bands and artists like beirut, belle and sebastian, white shoes and the couples company, and even techno music and ambients and trip hop (moby, zero 7, esthero, mandalay, mogwai, etc.). i guess im a bit mature in my taste. heh! and yeah, im now totally into indonesain indie ; ) . and im no more using p2ps.

white shoes and the couples company

5 - Got a job.
Not the sales promoter thing (the store) that i got myself tortured with 2 years ago, but instead a more respective job but unfortunately with little pay to compare with the promoter job. i was (and still am) a proof reader for the degree student's public speaking drafts thing. eventhough i find myself unqualified fully for this job but the idea of charging rm15 per script and finally people look forward to me really got me going. heh.

6 - Talked to a hobo.

7 - Watched wayang kulit live!

8 - I checked in into a hotel and stayed there for one night, ALONE. complete with room service!

Simply because i was dead bored waiting for the next finals paper and the gap was too long. watched a movie at night for the first time.

9 - Steve Irwin died from a stingray shot.

10 - Bennazer Bhutto died after being shot AND bombed by a suicide bomber. (its breaking news man, fresh from tv!)

11 - AC Milan are the european and world club champions.

But their performance in domestic competitions is horrible.

12 - England failed to qualify for EURO 08.
Football powerhouse konon. that is like a joke that sits pretty well along with some ali G's interviews and the simpsons movie. and that leads to...

13 - Watched the Blackadder, Ali G, and Weeds.
Those things up there are highly recommended. especially blackadder 3 and blackadder goes fourth. oh, and musn't forget blackadder's back and forth!

blackadder goes fourth.

14 - My father is now officially a pensioner (01 July 07).

15 - I think i've become less sarcastic this year. and my english is getting worse!

Well i guess that's all that made my 2007. hopefully next year will be better.

Season's greetings!

Raya. Exam. Fuck.

Amazing isn't it? i've spent my entire day not playing the suckingly addictive football manager. and out of the blue, i made a few makeovers (not that the pages experienced significant changes whatsoever) to my fs and blogspot and put the long awaited pix uploads (im the one waiting, others wouldn't bother). and i rediscovered the joy of online text messaging and watching youtube.

right, there's something definitely wrong here.

I NEED FOOTBALL MANAGER!!!

So, there. ive confessed. if its not for the fuckin downloaded update patch i would've led prato to serie B by now! ok, so there's a saying that people learn everyday. and people learn through mistakes. pffft. ok so i swear that i wont download any update patch again! it is sooooo troublesome that i wasted 1 hour figuring out how to undo the damage. and it turned out... wasteful.

so again, people say that there's always a silver lining in cloudy skies (or something like that, my english is not first class mind you). that makes me wonder what sort of "silver lining" that i can put to logic into this matter.

aha! exams is next week!

ok. so what to do now. i have done with raya. now is simply study week. and i should be studying. but there are soooo many raya leftovers that i cannot waste it on somebody else! blurgh, i simply should be studying. right, i'll start tomorrow coz theres nothing much to do with the pc without football manager anyway.

talking bout football manager - since i have all the time in the world that i just realised ive been having since my football manager game broke down - the new edition will be released on the 19th, which is THIS FRIDAY! just watched the screenshots and the comments about fm08 and it looks promising! lots of important changes and new things especially on the "media" and "transfers" have been put into it and i have to get a copy exactly after i finished with my exams and spend my hols playing the stuff. so that's my plan. well you know that planning is the first step that should be taken in management. :winks:

and that leads us to another point. exam is next week. again i should be studying. ok. i'll start tomorrow. and i shall spend the entire days left until i bring my arse back to arau studying. with the genuine intention of scoring a killer result. no joke. i think i can achieve it this time. and i simply need to.

on another note, i just stumbled upon this at sputnikmusic and if what is posted is true, radiohead is definitely genius to the max! no matter how hard muse tries to immitate radiohead, they simply leg wayyyy behind. so now what muse? wanna distribute music like what radiohead just did? soooo unrevolutionary... anyways, this thing being said by one of the forumers gets my attention,

"This is just great! It's funny how a band has better marketing plans than a record label. Great."

... now, THAT is news...

and last, but not least... i just saw this on devart.

Starbuck by *diablo2003 on deviantART

... and and and...

england got beaten by russia (2-1)!!! w00h00!!!
